Dr. Clay Blight

Health is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” (World Health Organisation)

I came to study Chiropractic, via my quest to be able to genuinely help people through improving their health. Chiropractic appealed to me as it is the ideal profession in which to promote health rather than manage ill health and sickness.

I began my studies in human biology and the sports sciences before moving into chiropractic at Murdoch University, WA. During my five years at Murdoch, the course had a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, diagnosis, radiology, nutrition and rehabilitation.

By the time I had graduated from Murdoch, I had come to realise that chiropractic is the ideal vessel in which to educate people and help each individual I come into contact with, to obtain their full health potential.

Outside of Chiropractic, I particularly enjoy the outdoors, surfing, swimming, fitness work and spending plenty of time with family and friends. I find myself very health conscious for obvious reasons, attending to exercise, diet and of course my weekly chiropractic care.

Thanks for visiting our site. My self and the team look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we can improve your health today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via the office or email.

Rachel Fearnley -  Head Chiropractic Assistant

Rachel FearnleyGrowing up in rural West Oz, my love for the country was set in stone from a very young age. However something I didn’t love was the regular colds I was getting from going in and out of the air conditioning. Regularly coming down with a cold would make me bed ridden for weeks at a time. When leaving school I studied at the Australian School of Clinical Aromatherapy and did a course in Massage Therapy. For years enjoying massages I thought I’d give chiropractic treatment a go. Immediately after beginning treatment I noticed a difference in my immune system, and getting rid of my colds was something I indeed found helpful.

I grew up really fast, all the way through primary school I was the tallest in the class and I hated it. I was always slouching and my parents would always tell me to sit up straight. Now that I’m older I realise how much your posture affects not only your appearance but your overall health. Chiropractic has helped me realise the effects of bad posture and I’m constantly checking I'm sitting up straight.

For me, chiropractic care means I can enjoy life at full speed; entertaining friends, dancing and camping in the lovely Kimberley is what I love to do.

Constantly hearing positive feedback from our Broome patients is the reason I love my job so much and working with such an awesome team makes coming to work every day a pleasure; so I hope to see you soon at Longevity Wellness Centre, Broome!

Dr. Nizar Asks some important questions of interest to Perth residents - Chiropractor Perth Dr. Nizar Asks...

How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Perth encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognise two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
